ScannerQR

Scan a QR Code With Your Camera

Use your device camera to scan a physical QR code live.

Camera is off

When a QR code is in front of you — on a poster, menu, package or screen — you can scan it live using your device camera right from this page. ScannerQR opens a camera view in your browser, detects the code automatically, and shows the result. Camera frames are processed on your device and never recorded or uploaded.

How it works

    1

    Open the Camera tab

The scanner starts on the Camera view. Tap Start camera to begin.

    2

    Allow camera access

Grant permission when your browser asks. Nothing is recorded — frames are analyzed live and discarded.

    3

    Aim at the code

Point your camera at the QR code and hold steady. It is detected and decoded automatically.

Works on phones and webcams

On a phone or tablet, the rear camera is used by default for the best focus on physical codes. On a laptop or desktop, your built-in or external webcam works too.

The first time you scan, your browser will ask for camera permission. This is required for live scanning and can be revoked at any time in your browser settings.

Tips for a fast scan

Hold the camera steady and fill the frame with the QR code. Good lighting and a flat, unwrinkled surface dramatically improve detection speed.

If a code will not scan live — for example because of glare or a curved surface — take a photo and use the upload option instead.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need an app to scan with my camera?
No. The camera scanner runs in your browser. Just grant camera permission and point at the code.
Why does it ask for camera permission?
Live scanning needs access to your camera feed. The video is processed on your device only and is never stored or uploaded.
Can I use my laptop webcam?
Yes. Any device with a camera, including laptops and desktops with a webcam, can scan live.
